This is a miniature painting and comes with the frame. The

painting is 3x3" painted on linen, the frame size is 5.25x5x25".
I have two monitors one looked more blue purple the other
looked more red purple, the painting is more red purple.
I have been doing larger works for an author for her book, very exciting!
Always enjoy painting mini's.

I set this still life up, rearranged it till I felt it was right. Moved

the apples around and around, moved the knife moved the leaves

and came up with this set up.

Gala apples are my favorite.

and secluded place, so serene. The sun hit so beautifully, I had to paint it.

Birds always fascinate me, their beauty, personalities, building their nests

and taking care of their babies. I love watching them as they group together 

and are synchronized when flying. What is truly amazing to me is all that God has 

created just for us.

Looking out from my window as I watch many small birds 

flocking to the bird feeder, are constantly keeping an

eye on everything.

   The small ones are watching out for the bigger birds, like the crows

and jays and are ready to flee in a heartbeat.

They don't mind eating with the squirrels or doves when

food drops to the ground.

I am obsessing on geraniums again, why, I don't know. I guess that they just

have that certain style that catches my eye.

 .

I have been so busy lately with commissions, some of the commissions will be used 

just for prints and will be sent off to Finland. I will be putting the originals for sale

on DPW. probably in a month or two.

  I also got a call today to do a painting for a book cover, that

is really exciting!

 My first choice is to paint from life, as these were but sometimes the flowers 

aren't in bloom so I go to my reference photos or from memory. Flowers come and go but

a flower painted is a living moment in time that stay.

This painting was painted from life. I started out with a light background, it

seemed to wash out the pitcher and glass, so changing it to a darker background

I was able to capture the highlights from the glass and have the pitcher stand out more. I really

loved how the shadow from the glass rolled across the pitcher and a wonderful cast of color.

This oil can, grease gun and inline filter are from the 40's. They belong to

my brother that collects vintage items, we have a lot in common, I 

love vintage also and really enjoyed painting this.
