Where Should I Build My Nest oil 6x6 SOLD
This bird, that I think is a sparrow was way up in a tree sitting on a branch. After painting it, it reminded me that this is the time that birds are looking for a place to build their nests. I already have a Junco on my deck in the same place as last year. I did some research on finding a mate and nest building, very interesting.

Dragonfly oil 5x7
This dragonfly was always hanging out in my brother and his wife's backyard. They called him or her Big Red. They would see Big Red everyday for years, until one day the Big Red never showed up again. They miss Big Red. I took a picture of Big Red and decided to paint this beautiful dragonfly with it's beautiful colors. Not sure why their called dragonfly. I will have to research how it got its name.

I painted these trees that were located in my backyard. I loved how the light trickled within the shadows.

Spring Brings the Pansies oil 5x5 SOLD
I was sitting on my deck and glanced over at the pansies and saw these beautiful shadows and how the sun was trickling down on the flowers. Always thinking what to paint next but when a moment like this happens it is so exciting and I can't wait to get the paints on the pallet.

Colors in the Wash Basin oil 8x8
I am putting to use with the primroses that I had bought. I painted around four paintings of them. I had to put them outside for some fresh air, were getting kind of droopy. They are doing just fine now.

Tugboat Tugging oil 8x10
While on the road in our travels in California, I saw this Tugboat and snapped a photo of it. The paint on the old boat was wearing out and the little red boat it was tugging inspired me to paint this piece. It was an overcast day and the colors seemed to pop instead of any light.

Primroses in Yellow oil 8x8
I saw these primroses before entering into the store, had to stop and buy some. It was as if they were saying buy me. I always like to go through them to pick the ones that would make a good model. Just like doing a figure painting they do move. The next day they would turn or the buds would be opening. Either you have to remember their position the day before or hurry and get them done.
