Oregon Fog

"Oregon Fog"
oil, 8x10"

On our travels to California we went through Oregon and
this beautiful fog bank was rolling across the mountains to where
they were hardly visible.

"Sunflower Aglow"

 "Sunflower Aglow"
oil, 8x8"

This Sunflower was my on my kitchen island, above it is
a skylight that beamed down beautiful light and kept some of
it in shadow. On the island the light hit just this one
small spot.

"Flower Cart""

 "Flower Cart"
oil, 8x10"
Sold

It was a really hot day when I went to visit my mom, as we sat on
the patio chatting I noticed her beautiful old flower cart, the light was intense and
the shadows were so strong. "Mom, I said, "what a really neat painting that would
make". I didn't have my paints with me, they were at home two states
away. So I took some pictures of it. Not sure how old this cart is,
it looks pretty aged but that is what makes it so special.

"Sunny Sunflowers"

"Sunny Sunflowers"
oil, 8x10"

I painted these sunflowers from life and they were a treat to
paint. The glowing yellow of these flowers are so intense
and so beautiful. The oranges that you find in shadow
harmonize with the yellow. No wonder so many artist love
to paint sunflowers.

"Pansies"

"Pansies"
Oil, 9x4"
Sold
Frame 9 3/4 x 4 3/4"
Handle to handle 11"

I painted the flowers from life and decided to just add the flowers without
the pots to go with this antique frame that I purchased from an antique
show. Not sure how old the frame is, I am guessing late 1800's to early
1900's. I collect antique frames and it is hard to part with them. I admire the
professional craftsmanship that went into them. I purchase new or old frames
from all over the country, I just love frames and how they complement
the painting. I will search high and low for
that perfect frame.

"Farmhouse Gerberas"

oil, 8x10

Painted from life but it was a good thing that I painted the flowers that day
because the next day they had moved a lot. Not real fun when they move, have
to remember what they looked like, start over, or take a picture before they move.

"Mini Daffodils in Delft"

"Mini Daffodils in Delft"
Oil 8x10"
Sold

These miniature daffodils were growing in our garden and I put them in a delft pot. Delft is a blue used in Dutch art that was painted on pottery, ceramic and many more objects. It was founded by
David Anthoniz van der Pieth in 1653 that originated in Delft. The history on it is very interesting.

"Primroses in Red"

"Primroses in Red"
oil, 8x10"
Sold

Earlier this spring I brought these primroses into my
studio to paint. I loved the look of the deep red flowers
against the yellow centers.
I will be doing a demo at the gallery I'm in, went to the nursery
and picked up a gerbera and some pansies to paint.
We have been working on our bathroom remodel, painting walls
picking out a vanity etc., so haven't been painting lately and am
excited to put that brush to the canvas instead of walls.
