Time is precious and it goes by so quickly. Sometimes I seem to waste

time by thinking too much and not doing. I know that when Christ is first

in my life it's always through Him that shows me His ways and not my

own ways and it always brings a peace. I usually talk to God as I paint, 

which is so comforting. I am here for such a short time, will I put my trust in the

world system that will never satisfy or will I put my trust in You Lord 

that created everything, I choose You Lord!

I had quite a few daisies in a vase but decided to paint just a section of them 

  as a study for a botanical painting.

So many flowers to choose from, each with their own charm.

God gives us so much beauty to absorb! 

What a wonderful God He is because of His Love for us!

I painted some of my favorite flowers, pansies, impatiens and lobelia.

I thought they looked good grouped together along with the old blue box.

When I first started this painting the background seemed to light so

I darkened it to bring out the pansies more, which helped a lot.

I love looking at botanical paintings, so I decided to paint the geraniums in

that style. Observing the leaves, flowers and stems. Doing more of

a study on the subject most backgrounds are usually a solid color and

value, mainly focusing on the plant itself.

Painting flowers makes me happy, so many to choose from.

Also painting the light makes me happy. What drew me to painting

was exactly that, the light. I studied mainly value for about a year and

found it to be extremely important. 

When visiting museums or galleries I always went to the paintings

that portrayed the light along with beautiful shadows.

These rhododendrons are in my yard that bloom beautifully
every year. Living in the Pacific Northwest it is amazing 

how abundant and large they get. When I was

living in California, never could I even keep them alive.

So it is a treat to live amongst such beauty!

I set this still life up a few times until it finally felt good.

I am always drawn to painting floral and still life, it just stirs me

 inside when a vision comes to mind, not always happens though but 

when it does it's time to put the brush to the canvas pronto.

More red geraniums, I can't keep count on how many 

red geraniums I have painted, they seem to

be quite popular.

Maybe it's the lush reds against the greens, or maybe

it's just because they are red geraniums. I have had some commissions

that the client said they brought back wonderful memories.

  I love painting red geraniums!

Set this still life up to paint, I really like using clocks in my paintings,

I have used this one before. For a better balance I added the painting in the background. 

I haven't painted in over a month, been remodeling bedrooms and my studio.  When I pulled everything out of my studio I was shocked on how much stuff I had in there.

I have commissions to get to, it will feel 

wonderful to get back to painting!

These gerberas came to me in a beautiful flower arrangement,  

   I plucked out the gerberas and put them in 

this small glass pitcher. Loved the harmony with reds, oranges and 

yellows.

I moved my violets in different spots in the house, no blooms, I even put them in front of my kitchen window, nothing.  Set them on a windowsill that doesn't get direct sun, I kept checking and then it happened, buds started to appear, a lot of them I was so excited!

 Here they are in full bloom!

  The day is over, my cup is empty, a burning lavender 

candle that is now put out, a time to say goodnight.

Was it a good day, always Lord when

I put you first, no worries, no unrest but complete

peace and joy. A brand new day is awaiting, will I 

depend on me or You, I'll take You Lord!
