Last spring I brought these pansies in to paint. I hadn't gotten around
to post it until now. Was quite occupied this year and haven't
  been posting much at all.
There are so many flowers to choose from, which is so exciting but what
makes flowers so special is that God created them just for us to enjoy!
Thank you God!

"What Are You Doing Henry"

"What Are You Doing Henry"
oil, 8x10" Sold

This is my nieces cat Henry when he was a kitten. He is now grown and loves to go outside for the day. They tried to keep him in as a house cat but that didn't work. He is adorable!

I get these visions in my head to paint and this in one of them.
I pictured the way it was in years past what it would be like to
really work hard just to wash your belongings.
I had my sister find some clothes that would fit
that era, she also had an old wash basin in her yard
that really fit in, she's a wonderful model.
Our technology has grown but have we?

I snipped these petite petunias from our flower pot that had
a mass of different flowers in it. I took the flowers
and plopped them in a jar with water, I really liked how the
stem on the right casually fell down almost hitting the table.
The arrangement just felt right without fussing with it,
love when that happens.

My friends and I went on a garden tour, the gardens were so
beautiful! I took a lot of pictures and this is one of the scenes
that became a painting.

"Creekbed in Subtle Light"

"Creekbed in Subtle Light
oil, 8x10"

This painting was done in a tonal application of greens and a tad of yellows.
The light in the creekbed seemed so subtle and peaceful to me.
When I painted this scene and how beautiful it is, I try to
imagine what heaven will look like, pure beauty. I can never duplicate what God
has created, all I can do is paint a glimpse of what I can see and feel.
Thank you God for loving us so much!

Painted this from life in my studio when my lilacs were in
bloom this last spring. I usually wait to post my paintings
when they are pretty much dry to varnish.
My lilac tree had so many clusters of
lilacs. I wish they lasted a lot longer they are so
beautiful and so fragrant.

"Daisies in Delft"

I took this photo from a friends house in CA, his house was like stepping into
the 1800's. He purposely had his whole house reconstructed to look
old, it was fun to explore. Wide knotty pine floors, the decor was also
so fascinating to look at. He is an architect, so the way he designed
it was unreal. He was kind enough to let me take pictures to paint from.
One of the items he collects is dutch delft pottery.  This wonderful
setup caught my eye with the daisies resting in the delft pot
next to the window, it had to be painted.

"Violets in White"

 "Violets in White"
oil, 8x10 Sold

My grandmothers violets were always blooming, not
mine, I have a hard time with violets. They are so
beautiful when I bring them home from the store but sooner
or later the blooms stop. I must be doing something wrong.
I put water in the saucer, fertilize them and I think they get
enough light which is indirect sunlight.
I think I need to read up more on these flowers.
